Vote Yes to Keep Our School Open

The Downsville High School sophomore class (in Downsville, Louisiana) produced this video in October 2007 as a service-learning project. They learned about how to make a short documentary, while providing a service to the school by encouraging people to vote for a school-tax renewal bill.

The project made it to the front page of The News-Star, the largest newspaper in Northern Louisiana.

The school-tax bill successfully passed two weeks later (after having failed twice earlier in the year), further emphasizing the impact that high school students can make in their community when given the opportunity and the right tools.
